Administrative Business Support Officer

My local authority client are looking for someone to assist their onboarding team within HR on a full time but temporary basis working Monday - Friday until mid-October unless extended, working £10.31 per hour.

As an Administrative Business Support Officer you will provide both admin and business support to their services in accordance with systems, statutory procedures, legislation, corporate standards and policies. 

The role is varied but will include:

  • Providing consistent and flexible levels of administration and business support 
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate records
  • Ensuring that any communication is clear and readily understood by the target audience 
  • Implementing new processes, procedures and systems
  • Undertaking more complex administrative duties such as ordering equipment/stationery supplies, reporting and rectifying faults and enquiries, management of a petty cash system as required, and budget monitoring 
  • Organising and coordinating meetings, taking minutes and tracking meeting actions for more complex meetings including those which are sensitive or confidential e.g. child protection cases
  • Developing, producing and maintaining service-specific processes, systems, databases and documents in line with corporate standards, protocols and emerging technology
  • Compiling, analysing and interpreting statistical and financial information; assisting the manager to administer and monitor allocated financial cost centres, raising and processing financial documentation, monitoring budgets and reporting discrepancies
  • Supporting managers within the service and other staff in the coordination and production of service reports, presentations, spreadsheets and other documents to required timescales 
  • Assisting with the induction, support, training and monitoring of admin and business support assistants as directed
  • Reception cover if/when required

To be considered for the role you must:

  • Have experience of the above
  • Have experience of supporting complex meetings, including arranging, producing, and circulating papers, taking minutes and following up actions
