Administrator/Purchasing Assistant

My client in Shepshed are a well established and successful manufacturing and supply company who have an exciting opportunity to join them on a full time and permanent basis working 8am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday, paying up to £22k depending on experience. 

The role is varied but you will be responsible for ordering and delivery of specific products/product categories from designated factories worldwide. You will:

  • Negotiate pricing, lead-times and delivery dates with factories and suppliers
  • Develop supplier relationships to maximise any profit making opportunities
  • Expediting open purchase orders to ensure order confirmations are received and deliveries deadlines met inline with the company requirements
  • Updating delivery and product data with the computer system
  • Conducting regular competitor research
  • Liaising and building strong relationships with Key Stakeholders within the business
  • General administration associated with the buying function
  • Supporting Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Supervisor in any other tasks required to ensure the smooth running of the department

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Have a strong administrative background
  • Ideally have previous purchasing experience
  • Be highly effective numerically and analytically with sound Excel skills (including V-Look ups and Pivot Table experience)
  • Be a logical thinker with good attention to detail an a high level of organisational skills
  • Be a positive, supportive and flexible team player
