Child Protection Coordinator

JT Recruit are working in partnership with a Local Authority who is looking to appoint an experienced co-ordinator for a short-term contract to start immediately based in Derby.

You will be required to provide an effective and comprehensive administrative support service in relation to all Child Protection and Vulnerable Children's meetings including taking minutes, producing a detailed record of such meetings. Manage and progress the processing and sharing of the child's information through this process using Liquid Logic (LCS). To support the delivery of The Council's vision, aims and objectives through adhering to The Councils Corporate Values.

Additional responsibilities: Arrange a variety of statutory meetings with a range of officers from within the organisation, as well as external partners and stakeholders to ensure critical decisions are made to meet statutory; departmental and corporate objectives within given deadlines.

To prepare and collate documentation from within the organisation, external partners, and stakeholders for meetings in line with statutory and corporate guidelines and timescales.

Comprehensively minute a variety of complex, sensitive and emotionally charged and distressing statutory meetings. To make sure actions and timescales are recorded accurately, so that they support statutory and corporate processes. Minutes are to be produced and circulated within tight timescales.

Prepare reports and other documentation using corporate templates, to progress service delivery. This will include the compilation of statistical information.

Prepare and maintain electronic statutory case records, using LCS and associated papers/documents.

To be responsible for the maintenance of/notification to other people, including professionals concerning records that need to be restricted and updated in line with statutory requirements. • Co-ordinate responses to complex, and sensitive enquiries in accordance with agreed procedures/guidelines of the services.

Manage and resolve requests for the re-organisation of statutory meetings to ensure that they are still held within the required timescales.

Deal with enquiries, including telephone, email, and personal callers. Answer queries where possible, take messages or direct the enquirer to alternative agencies as appropriate. • Give guidance to immediate colleagues, including coaching and mentoring of staff on lower grades.

Work collaboratively and provide information to external partners following service guidelines.

Maintain confidentiality, understanding that the work undertaken will be of a sensitive and upsetting nature and must not be discussed or disclosed.

To undertake general administrative duties including photocopying, updating spreadsheets, emailing, and filing in relation to the Child Protection Meetings covered.


Hours will be full time, Monday – Friday 09.00 -17.00hrs
