HR Assistant

My local authority client are looking for an experienced and qualified HR Assistant to join them on a full time but temporary basis in Grantham working 37 hours per week, paying up to £14.99 per hour.

The purpose of the role is to provide an effective Human Resources administration service relating to the employment life cycle; to support the HR Team in providing a comprehensive HR service, assist in the administration of the systems and to maintain HR databases. 

You will ensure accurate HR records on all employees and liaise with payroll to ensure accurate monthly payroll for employees, and to provide HR reports as required.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out administrative processes in the recruitment process, such as preparing adverts, logging applications forms, administering recruitment campaigns
  • Administering the process for new employees such as the preparation of contracts and processing all pre-employment checks
  • Ensuring payroll instructions are prepared, logged and submitted to the payroll team for the monthly payroll run
  • Supporting in the administration of the MHR iTrent system to ensure accuracy, such as inputting of starters, contractual amendments, change of details
  • Cyclical database cleansing as required
  • Providing day to day advice on general HR related queries, requests of policies and procedures, escalating more complex issues to other members of the HR team
  • Assisting with note taking in formal meetings, as may be required by the HR Manager
  • Carrying out general admin tasks for the HR Team and managing the HR and Recruitment inbox  
  • Ensuring personnel files are maintained

To be considered for the role you must:

  • Have knowledge of HR databases and system administration
  • Understand HR processes and procedures around recruitment, selection and induction
  • Be CIPD level 3 qualified
  • Have experience of using MHR iTrent 
  • Have experience of HR administration
