Full Job Description

Program & Project Support Officer (interim)

Are you looking to make a difference?

Want to be part of a new team?

If so, then Becky at JT Recruit would like to speak with you about this exciting new challenge for a Local Government department.

As part of the Governments National Bus Strategy, the Council in October 2021 submitted its BSIP to the Department of Transport (DFT). The BSIP seeks to make significant improvements to local bus services and infrastructure across the County through a number of capital and revenue financed interventions.

The Council, working in partnership with local bus operator partners and wider stakeholders, will deliver the BSIP through two formal and legal documents, Enhanced Partnership Plan (EPP) and Enhanced Partnership Schemes (EPS). Both documents came alive on 31 March 2021.

The DFT has awarded indicative funding for delivery of the BSIP over the next three years, we hope to know the final award this summer. It is a very challenging programme of work which will require an experienced team to work with teams across the Council, our partners, wider stakeholders and the BSIP Board to deliver a variety of projects.

To be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate that you have:

Experience of project support/management in a large, complex organisation.

Knowledge and experience of contributing to developing project plans and delivery.

Preparation of monitoring reports for various audiences

Understanding of project management principles

Ability to research, analyse and present information based on good quality data, in a variety of formats

Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills

Understanding of the overall council vision and strategies and how project management contributes to organisational performance and delivery

Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and influence based on knowledge of the project and programmes.

The new team will initially be appointed on a 6-9 month engagement and will work with the BSIP Manager and report directly to the Head of Transport. A knowledge of local government and local transport bus policy/strategy would be helpful but is not essential.

The role will be mainly working from home, but there may be a requirement to attend meetings at County Hall on occasion (Matlock)

If this is your next challenge the apply today.
