Then Becky at JT Recruit would like to hear from you.  She is working in partnership with a UK’s digital, data and technology agency focused on tertiary education, research, and innovation.

They are a not-for-profit organisation and believe education and research improves lives and that technology improves education and research, who are constantly changing and evolving.

They are looking for you to join them as a ‘Developer in Test’ with one of the OpenAthens development scrum teams.

You will use your test technical skills, knowledge, and experience, along with your soft skills, to work with your scrum team colleagues and stakeholders, to continually improve the OpenAthens identity and access management products. You will be involved in the software development process end- to-end, which may include backlog refinement, sprint planning, analysis, design and testing, and any accompanying continuous improvement process.

You will deliver the implementation of the automated testing strategy along with performing manual exploratory testing tasks.

Responsibilities will include but will not be restricted to:

Gain an in-depth knowledge of the OpenAthens products, the development process and the development and testing technical environment.

Collaborate with developers, testers, product owner, the application architect and other stakeholders to understand the required product changes, then create automated tests and conduct the exploratory manual test required to deliver a successful product increment.

Ensure that all changes meet the team’s agreed quality standards. (Definition of Done).

If you are highly skilled at creating automated tests in Java that are both high-quality, easily maintainable, and well documented then this is just a flavour of what the role involves.

This is a permanent position, with great benefits on offer, flexible 35 hours per week.

As a hybrid role, there is no requirement for attending the office on a set pattern but there will be times when you’ll be required to attend an office. This will most often be at the Bristol office as that is the closest office for most of the OpenAthens team, expenses paid.

 Allocated allowance of up to £250 to equip your home office.
