Service Support Assistant
Our local authority are looking for a Service Support Assistant to join them on a temporary basis.
Location - LE3 8RF
Pay Rate - £11.38ph
The main duties of the role are –
- Preparing invitation letters and requesting Police Checks for Child Protection Conferences. This will mean working to tight timescales as the Police require 7 working days prior to the conference to prepare the information.
- Minuting the Child Protection Conferences. These are multi-agency meetings and can be distressing as they deal with the abuse of children. The meetings can range from 2 hours to 3.5 hours. This role will be allocated 3 meetings per week to minute and for the associated administrative tasks. These meetings are held via Microsoft Teams.
- Preparing a Child Protection or Child in Need Plan after the meeting (this usually dictated during the meeting by the Chair of the meeting) and this needs to be approved and distributed within 5 working days of the meeting being held.
- Typing up a record of the meeting and ensuring that the record is approved by the Chair and distributed within 15 working days of the meeting.
- Uploading documents and adding information onto our in-house database.
Experience required:
- Previous clerical experience ideally in a public sector setting.
- Experience of using a range of software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.)
- Previous reception experience, telephone enquiries and correspondence.
- Experience of filing and record systems.
- Previous experience within Children and Family Services.
- A good understanding of the importance of monitoring impact and outcomes for the families receiving servicesfrom C&FS.
- Good written and oral communication skills (communicating with members of the public and staff inside and outside of the Service).
- Ability to communicate with employees at all levels, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Evidence of establishing and maintaining manual and electronic admin systems.
- Experience of working in a politically structured environment.
- Understanding of County Council services.
- Liaising with external contractors.
