Sheltered Housing Manager

My local authority client are looking for an experienced and qualified Sheltered Housing Manager to join them on a full time but temporary basis in Grantham until at least October 8th (if not extended) working 37 hours per week, paying £22 per hour. 

You will be line managing the Housing Services Team Leader in the delivery of an integrated, high performing customer focused sheltered housing service, developing partnerships with residents, statutory agencies and partners to achieve a continuous improvement to the sheltered housing service.

The role is varied but will include:

  • Ensuring operational procedures and systems are fit for purpose, delivering value for money and good customer service
  • Leading on, participating in and supporting partnership working with other agencies and statutory bodies
  • Managing overall team performance against KPI's, health and safety monitoring and compliance, producing reports and service plans to improve performance as necessary
  • Leading, managing and motivating the team, completing check ins and ensuring workload planning and relevant cover of the service is maintained, including year end planning
  • Ensuring fit for purpose contracts are in place across the service, and that these are procured, monitored and reviewed
  • Leading on support provision for tenants, and ensuring that systems are in place to provide tenants with a range of information to assist them in managing their tenancy independently
  • Ensuring tenancy conditions are enforced to achieve vibrant and sustainable communities 
  • Supporting the Head of Housing Services to respond to enquiries 
  • Investigating complaints or service failures, taking any necessary steps to improve future service delivery
  • Effectively managing budgets and ensuring revenue and income are maximised
  • Reviewing and developing strategies, policies, procedures and plans for the team
  • Leading on resident engagement
  • Developing and managing the rolling program of sheltered housing improvement works, with a specific focus on the community rooms and guest bedrooms
  • Liaising with other teams and agencies

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Have a Degree or demonstrable relevant experience
  • Be a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing
  • Have a full UK driving licence
  • Have detailed knowledge and experience of Housing legislation, health and safety legislation and compliance across sheltered housing schemes
  • Have experience of managing and monitoring budgets and associated processes
  • Have experience of managing sheltered housing
  • Have experience of resident engagement
  • Have an understanding of safeguarding procedures relating to children/young people and vulnerable adults
