Supply Chain Planning Manager

Supply Chain Planning Manager required for my client based in Coalville

This is an exciting & new role them and is key to support the growth of the business and the aspirations for the future.

Location: Bardon / Hybrid

Salary: £35,000 pa

Hours: Full time 37.5 hrs per week, Monday - Friday 08:30am - 16:30pm

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, you will work alongside the Purchasing, Product Sales, Imports and Central Distribution Centre teams to continuously improve stock processes, act as the business partner, be confident to challenge the status quo and develop and implement new ways of working.

As the role works across multiple business functions it will support the wider aspirations of the business to reduce waste within the supply chain and ensure that it is fit for the future.

The Person

  • The successful candidate will be of degree calibre or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
  • You will be motivated, professional, and conscientious person to work as part of our Supply Chain team.
  • You will have a passion for stock management, process improvement, forecasting, S&OP and keeping the customer at the forefront of our mind.
  • You will be analytical in nature and have the ability to source information from multiple places, manipulate it and provide insight to support better decision making. Pace will be part of your nature but not at the cost of accuracy.
  • Your approach will be measured, with an attitude to own a solution and deliver the right result for the business based on data challenging the status quo. You will have the ability to have an independent view based on the data.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the stock holding targets with the purchasing teams, working with them to ensure that we have all of the business channels requirement reflected in the forecasts.
  • Provide the business with a forward view of stock requirements, cash investment, stock per channel and manage the supply chain critical path.
  • Working with the operational, purchasing and sales teams to provide a space requirement forecast and maximise efficiency.
  • Have the ability to scenario plan changes in the supply chain and their impact based on financial, operational, customer or economic constraints.
  • You will define, implement, and improve stock management and forecasting within the company Focus must remain on having the right stock available at the required volume in the correct channel at all times.
  • Implement new Supply Chain planning function successfully. Including the creation of a critical path for the supply chain function.
  • Recommend and coordinate expediting activities and associated resources in order to minimise risk of delays
  • Ensure that the supply chain function acts in a way that considers the future critical path and priorities stock accordingly.
  • Leads the weekly supply chain planning meeting across the business to ensure that plans take into account new product, existing requirements and new sales channels and keeping everyone aligned to the business goals.
  • As the supply chain function within the company continues to develop the roles responsibilities will also develop over time.

Key Skills:

  • You must have excellent Excel skills, be competent in data analytics & insight.  
  • A good understanding of S&OP principles and great communications of detailed plans.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Detailed understanding of the supply chain from point of order to point of delivery, including the returns processes.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
  • You will be comfortable working in a fast paced and, at times challenging, environment and have the patience to address challenges calmly with a solution-based approach.
  • A working knowledge of SAP is desirable. (SAP R/3 and SAP S4 Hana)
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Strong operational and commercial awareness.
