Team Leader - Young People

My client, who specialise in providing supported living services and accommodation to vulnerable young people aged between 16 - 25 years, are looking for an experienced Team Leader to join their team in Bristol on a Full Time, Permanent basis working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis, paying £25,370.50 per annum.

The role is varied but will include some of the following:

  • Building good relationships with professionals and agencies by ensuring the support delivered by the team is professional, timely, effective and promotes the welfare of service users
  • Ensuring that service users and all those working with them are safeguarded by ensuring that all staff receive, read and adhere to accurate risk assessments and have the relevant tools and resources they need to be able to perform their roles
  • To ensure that service users achieve their targets as per their Pathway Plans 
  • Supervising a team of key workers to ensure they deliver an effective supported living service to service users
  • Liaising with stakeholders and ensuring accurate information is recorded, shared and acted upon in a timely manner 
  • Identifying, communicating and acting upon concerns and incidents immediately and taking responsibility for following these through 
  • Attending placement planning meetings with service users and professionals
  • Ensuring newly placed service users are inducted on admission, explaining house rules and welcome pack etc
  • Promoting independence by regularly reviewing support levels in line with service users' changing needs and abilities and liaising with senior managers to make recommendations on how this should be adjusted
  • Providing on call assistance to ensure service users and staff are safe and providing a fast response
  • Conducting regular supervisions to monitor performance and behaviours, identifying and requesting relevant training and development
  • Working with HR to address any performance or conduct issues

To be considered for the post you must:

  • Have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Have previous Team Leader/Management experience
  • Have previous experience within a supported living environment 
  • Have previous experience supporting vulnerable young people
  • Be a driver with access to your own vehicle and business insurance
