Electrical Estimator

Our client is currently looking for an Electrical Estimator to join them on a permanent basis.

Location - DE74 2RH

Salary – Experience depending.

Office based role.

Main Purpose of Job Role:

Reporting to the Department Manager, you will be responsible for helping to achieve the reporting and Quoting targets. Key focus is on offering advice, people management, profitability, cost control and customer service There is a requirement for attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You shall also be responsible for helping to manage the reporting and preparing of invoicing for transfer to accounts.

Ensuring that jobs are reported and quoted, cost effectively and delivered on time in accordance to the customer specification and quality requirements.

Ensuring that Engineers are achieving targets, monitoring their production output & time delivery on sites.

Communicating with all the relevant people/departments and co-ordinating all relevant jobs to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved.

Planning, scheduling and reviewing workload to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved cost effectively.

The job may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.

Main Duties

Production

ØReport Generation

  • Ensure you have all the correct data for preparing reports for customer requirements.
  • Monitor & review any jobs against deadline targets to ensure on time delivery.
  • Ensure that any PO’s that are late or holding up delivery for whatever reason are chased and followed up until received.
  • Ensure that all finished invoices and reports are delivered on time and to the agreed specification.

ØInvoicing

  • Ensuring you have the correct information including Purchase Orders.
  • Prioritise your daily schedule.
  • Set, monitor and review workload schedules.

ØQuotes

  • Ensure you have all the correct data for preparing quotes for customer requirements.
  • Monitor & review any jobs against quotes to ensure on target with costs & profit delivery.
  • Ensure that any quotes are chased and followed up until received.
  • Ensure that all quotes won are delivered on time and to the agreed specification.

Purchasing & Inventory Management

ØPurchasing

  • Sourcing, negotiating and managing the purchase of supplies or equipment that may be required for engineers.

ØInventory Management

  • Ensuring that the database is updated at all times with the correct purchasing information & Customer or Supplier Details.

Customer Service

ØCustomer Service

  • Maintain proactive, dynamic and effective communication with customers at all times.
  • Offer flexible and helpful customer service to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Health & Safety

ØHealth & Safety

  • Promote & maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with company procedure and legal requirement. Ensuring that Engineers Human Focus Training is kept up to date & RAMs are sent to jobs where applicable.

  • Assisting with the Monitoring, review and addressing of personnel under performance, maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assisting with ensuring that the appropriate systems and processes are in place to measure and manage staff performance and to coach and develop a high performance workforce.

ØDiscipline & Grievance

  • Assisting with Monitoring, reviewing and addressing personnel under performance, liaising with the Human Resource department and the Department Manager and maintaining appropriate records in accordance with company procedures as required.
  • Address any staff discipline or grievance issues, maintain appropriate records in accordance with company procedures.

ØStaff Training & Development

  • Be aware of and promote best practice and performance standards.
  • Help develop and monitor performance standards.
  • Identify individual training needs.
  • Implement, monitor and review training and development plans.

ØMonitor and Manage Production KPI’s

  • Achieve the company’s on time delivery target of 95%
  • Control all associated operational costs according to the prevailing annual forecast.
