Full Job Description
Electrical Project Manager
My client specialise in the supply, installation and maintenance of electrical solutions for various commercial and industrial customers across the country. They now have an exciting opportunity for an experience Electrical Project Manager to join them on a full time and permanent basis.
The role involves country-wide travel therefore a full clean UK driving licence is essential.
You will be working closely with the team of Bid and Project Managers to coordinate the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of projects to ensure compliant installations in order to maximise potential growth opportunities.
The role is varied but duties will include:
- Estimating the electrical element of tenders to establish a consistent flow of work and then delivering the project on conversion
- Loading data into Cypher estimation package
- Working directly with clients on a regular basis
- Maintaining and developing meaningful work relationships
- Attending site/tender walk-throughs to cross reference drawings to identify proactive solutions and avoid potential site interferences where required
- Risk Assessments
- Designing electrical layouts via Amtech software systems
- Communicating with the client to clarify unclear specifications, wording, through RFI's
- Coordinating with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing used for bid submissions
- Participating in site reviews. tender reviews, tender hand-over, project closing meetings as needed
- Quantifying variations with client, submitting prices and communicating with confirmation of agreement
- Financial management of projects and working to budget
In order to be considered, you must:
- Have an electrical background
- Have experience on design and build projects
- Have a thorough understanding of the planning and sequencing of construction of projects
- Ideally have solar PV knowledge
- Have a good understanding of contracts
- Have strong client facing communication skills
- Be able to manage your own workload and work well under pressure
- Be proficient in MS Office, word and excel, and other related computer programmes
- Health & Safety (IOSH accreditation)
- Be experienced in the management of design pre-commencement phase
- 18th Edition wiring qualification
- Have a full clean driving licence
Standard hours of work are 40 per/week Monday - Friday. Salary is up to £46k depending on experience.
In addition to an excellent rate of pay, you will be rewarded with a Company vehicle (Tesla with charger and installation provided), pension and private healthcare.
