Estimator

My client is currently looking for an Estimator to join their team to prepare quotes and estimates for construction project enquiries.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Foundation

• Prepare accurate pricing schedules by measuring from drawings, completing BoQ’s or pricing schedules
• Interpret design / systems correct from Sayfa drawings / Kaydee evaluation
• Clearly define scope, specifications and allowances in quote / tender submissions
• Submit quotations and tenders to deadlines, proactively securing extensions if required
• Liaising with other departments across the company such commercial for terms, contracts for resourcing and informing sales of extensions
• Updating systems and following processes

Intermediate

• Interpret client requirements, identifying value engineering, costs of quality and extra overs
• Ensuring any technical or design led aspects are in accordance with any statutory requirements such as BS EN?
• Review basic forms of contract and commercial / contract terms and qualify the estimate accordingly

Advanced

• Visits sites to prepare estimates from surveys or inspections?
• Work with contract /commercial team to analyse trends and norms for more accurate costing?
• Liaising with suppliers for up to date material prices?
• Liaising with clients for RFI’s and TQ’s as well as building relationships
• Ensuring effective handover of the project to the Contract team
• Challenge all individuals associated with the estimating process to drive continuous improvement

Experience & Knowledge (Entry)

• Ideally Commercial work experience
• Some Construction knowledge
• Some CRM or ERP experience
• Experience of using CAD or working to drawings

Qualifications

• A-Level student with high academic achievement
• HNC / HND / Bsc in Construction or Engineering related subject
• BTECH Level 3 in Construction Trade such as joiner or roofer
