Production & Progress Planner

Excellent family-owned Electrical Switchgear Company are looking for a Production & Progress Planner to join them.

Reporting to the Project Engineer, the position is pivotal within the Company working closely with all departments; therefore, they are looking for a team player, with good communication skills.

Responsibilities include: -

 

• Ordering equipment with suppliers.
• Establish a system to track outstanding orders ensuring manufacturing deadlines are met.
• Monitoring delivery dates to ensure that deliveries are made on time.
• Keep in contact with suppliers as and when necessary.
• Attend weekly production meeting and give updates on current situation of contracts with customers.
• Work with Works Supervisor to ensure that any issues with delivery dates are quickly addressed.
• Convey information on potential hold ups advising customers of any change in delivery dates.
• Be a point of contact for customers for online customer access system for our equipment record database. This includes adding/deleting customer equipment, placing drawings/test certification on the system and generally keeping the information up to date.

 

Experience knowledge required: -

 

• Computer literate, interested in engineering and working with online databases.
• Knowledge of SAGE would be an advantage.
• Be able to work in a team.
• Be able to work independently, be proactive, practical and be in regular contact with suppliers to keep on top of the current delivery situation.
• Good communication and administration skills.
• Willing to work overtime both during the week and Saturday mornings if required.

 

 

For the correct person they are offering an initial 6 month contract with a view to going permanent.

 

Depending on experience and skills a salary of £22 - £25,000

 

Hours of work Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 17:30pm, finishing at 3pm on Fridays
