Housing Support Officer required to join my Public Sector client on a Temporary Basis initially until the end of February.

Part-time position; working hours/days to be discussed during the interview process.

Job Purpose:
To provide personalised support and assistance to older or vulnerable tenants in North West Leicestershire, helping them to live independently. This role involves undertaking multiple visits/contacts each day across the district to assess tenant needs, offer tailored advice, and connect them with appropriate services. The post holder will also assist with the promotion and development of social activities for tenants in supported independent living properties and sheltered housing.

Main Duties:

  • Assess tenant needs, develop support plans, and promote independence, dignity, and security.
  • Ensure appropriate social, health, and well-being services are provided and liaise effectively with relevant teams and services, including Housing Repairs and other Council departments.
  • Lead and organise social and well-being activities at sheltered housing schemes, involving residents in the development of these services and ensuring regular consultation and meetings.
  • Advise tenants on local statutory, private, and voluntary services, assist with applications, advocate where necessary, and support tenants in completing forms.
  • Participate in case conferences and liaise with external agencies, GPs, and/or family members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in specialist areas such as dementia, as required by the Support Team Leader.
  • Ensure the Council’s excellent reputation is upheld with all customers, partners, and internal teams.

Other Details:

  • Based in North West Leicestershire with travel required across the district.
  • There is no personal care involved in this role. Travel around the district is required, and the role cannot be done remotely.
