37 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00
£13.47 per hour
Are you passionate about supporting people to access and sustain safe, secure and affordable homes? A local authority in Nottingham is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Housing Officer to join its housing services team on a temporary basis.
This is a varied frontline role, working directly with tenants, leaseholders and applicants to deliver high-quality housing advice, tenancy and estate management services in line with legislation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective housing, tenancy and estate management services
- Provide housing advice on lettings, allocations, mutual exchanges and tenancy changes
- Support customers with rent enquiries, benefits advice and financial inclusion signposting
- Manage garage applications, waiting lists, allocations and site visits
- Respond professionally to customer enquiries, complaints and councillor queries
- Support the management of anti-social behaviour, tenancy fraud, safeguarding and vulnerability concerns
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to resolve customer issues
- Manage keys for empty properties and garages and ensure property security
- Complete accurate administrative tasks, including reports, payments and record-keeping
- Promote digital services, self-service options and tenant involvement within local communities
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in housing services or a customer-facing public service role
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities
- A proactive, accurate and customer-focused approach
