Join a Dynamic Team as an HR Advisor – Schools!

Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for supporting schools and academies? We have an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference in the education sector!

Becky at JT Recruit would like to hear from you, she is looking for a HR Advisor on a part-time, permanent basis to join a public sector owned company based in Hereford, specialising in providing support services to the public sector, this role provides support in schools in the Hereford.

As an HR Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert advice and support on a full range of HR matters. You will work closely with school leaders, governors, and employees, helping them navigate complex HR issues and ensuring compliance with employment law and best practices. Your ability to build strong, trusting relationships will be key to delivering high-quality HR services tailored to the unique needs of each school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer professional guidance on employee relations issues, including discipline, grievance, absence, redundancy, and TUPE.
  • Support schools through complex change management programs and consultations.
  • Advise on employment law, pay, terms and conditions, and policies in line with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and School Staffing Regulations.
  • Provide support for recruitment, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
  • Deliver HR training tailored to the needs of schools and clients.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to develop new business and strengthen client relationships.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience advising on HR matters, particularly in the education sector.
  • Knowledge of the Green Book, Burgundy Book, School Staffing Regulations, and employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with schools, unions, and senior staff.
  • A flexible, customer-focused approach and the ability to manage complex and sensitive HR cases.
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) with a commitment to continuous professional development.
