JT Recruit is working in partnership with a Local Authority who are looking for experienced and qualified joiner to join the repairs team who are responsible for maintaining their Social Housing homes and other associated properties in the Derby City region.

The Joiners will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance in homes, as well as working on some commercial buildings. They will need to have experience in fixing and maintaining various structures. Good customer service skills are important because they will need to answer questions and deal with any issues our customers might have. We are especially interested in someone who has experience hanging internal doors.

The job involves:

• Repair Work: Fixing broken or damaged structures in people’s homes and in some commercial buildings.
• Maintenance Tasks: Regularly checking and ensuring everything is in good working order.
• Customer Interaction: Talking with customers, answering their questions, and solving their problems. Good communication skills are important for this.
• Special Skill in Door Hanging: We are looking for someone who knows how to hang internal doors properly.

This role is perfect for someone who is skilled, enjoys helping people, and has a special knack for working with doors.

The post may require you to be clean shaven with the exception of faith or religious beliefs which require the individual to have facial hair or prevent shaving OR employee has a skin condition or other medical reason why they cannot shave. This must be supported by a letter from a GP or other medical practitioner.
A Full UK driving license is required as you will need to travel around Derbyshire to complete the daily works. A checkable work history for the last 2 years and relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification.

Hours of work will be Monday – Friday 08.00-16.00hrs £16.34 per hour PAYE.
