Key Responsibilities:

• Painting and Decorating: You will be responsible for carrying out professional painting and decorating services in residential properties. This includes applying paints, varnishes, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
• Surface Preparation: Prepare all surfaces to be painted by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and priming where needed. Proper surface preparation is essential to achieving a smooth and long-lasting finish.
• Time Management: You must manage your time effectively to ensure that each job is completed within the agreed time frame, while maintaining the quality of work expected by Derby Homes.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Proper handling and use of equipment and materials must be adhered to at all times.
• Customer Communication: Communicate directly with customers to ensure their needs are met and any concerns are addressed promptly. Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor is essential.
• Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Keep all painting tools and equipment in good condition, ensuring they are used and stored safely. Regular checks and maintenance of tools are necessary for effective and efficient work.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Essential Qualifications: You must hold NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating or City and Guilds in Painting and Decorating. This qualification is a must for the role.
• Experience: Previous experience in painting and decorating, especially in residential or domestic settings, is highly desirable.
• Own Transport: As this role involves traveling between job sites, you must have your own transport and a full UK driving license.
• Attention to Detail: You must have an eye for detail, ensuring the highest standard of finish is achieved on every project.
• Professionalism: A positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential.

Additional Information:

• The role is based at Derby Homes on London Road, with travel to various customer homes in the Derby area.
• This is a full-time position with a working week of 37.5 hours, offering a competitive rate of £15 per hour.
