Becky at JT Recruit would like to hear from you. She is looking to appoint x2 Sterile Service Technician for a NHS Trust department based in Norwich NR4 ASAP.
The Institute is a centre for food and health research, combining Institute Bioscience, the University Hospitals’ endoscopy centre and aspects of the University of East Anglia’s Norwich Medical School and the Faculty of Science.
She is looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who have already worked within the field of decontamination, ideally with re-usable medical devices, or who have completed a recognised decontamination course (NVQ/TVQ/Technical Certificate).
Main duties:
Performing the full decontamination cycle on re-usable medical devices (surgical instruments) to the highest of standards, in line within the Trusts policies and procedures
Participate fully in quality control processes ensuring procedures and documentation is completed accurately at all times.
Checking and dismantling pieces of equipment prior to automated cleaning and disinfection. Ensuring that all instruments are clean, reassembled and functioning following cleaning and disinfection Packing, sealing and labelling the equipment prior to sterilisation and dispatch to the customer. Operation of the washer-disinfectors and autoclaves and tracking of items throughout the process.
As this service never stops, you will need to be reliable and have the flexibility to working hours.
This work can be physically demanding and involves lifting equipment and pushing heavy trolleys. You will need to demonstrate you have worked in a similar environment with a good standard of literacy and numeracy, have experience of working in a customer services environment and be computer literate to a basic level.
Hours of work are Saturday & Sunday every week 09.00-17.00hrs
Pay £16 – £18 per hour
