🔧 Trainee Workshop Technician – DE24
JT Recruit are currently recruiting a new Trainee Workshop Technician for a permanent role based at the Materials Testing Laboratory in Derby. This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone keen to build a long-term career in technical engineering within a well-established and supportive company.
🌍 About the Role:
Our client is a global leader in Total Quality Assurance, working across industries including aerospace, oil & gas, rail, automotive, construction, and more.
🛠️ Key Duties:
- Sectioning of received samples for further machining
- Machining test specimens in accordance with required specifications for materials testing and analysis
- Working in a fast-paced workshop environment
- Keeping the workspace clean and organised
- Daily equipment checks to ensure peak performance
📚 Full Training Provided
Experience in machining or engineering is a plus but not essential – all relevant training will be provided.
💷 Pay & Hours:
Monday – Friday 06.00-14.00
£12.21 per hour
✅ Ideal Candidate:
- Basic machining knowledge (advantageous, not essential)
- Basic understanding of materials and machining techniques
- Good IT literacy
- Keen to learn, reliable, and a strong team player
