Minibus drivers required for our public sector client

Hours:

7:15 – 9:30 approx

2:45 – 4:45 approx

DBS: 

* Enhanced with Children’s & Adult’s Barred List

What will I be doing?

You will be typically driving a standard minibus with with wheelchair access.

You will need a  D1 entitlement on your licence

You will need to undertake their defensive driving and national standard MIDAS

driving course.

In addition, applicants will undertake the in-house induction programme that covers key safer systems of work, safeguarding, health and safety.

All applicants will require an Enhanced with Children’s & Adult’s Barred List

These roles are 20 hours a week working 4 hours a day which includes a split shift of 2 hours in the morning and afternoon.  These roles are term-time only.  If you cannot adhere to these shifts please do not apply.

 

What is the job role:

The job involves providing transportation for some of our most vulnerable people across Coventry. This can involve manual handling large wheelchairs and loading them on and off the minibuses. You will be dealing with a range of challenging behaviours potentially on a daily basis.

Continuity is a vital part of the service we provide and we endeavour to keep the same driver and passenger assistant on the vehicle.

In summary, the role involves the following tasks:

  • Undertake all driving duties in allocated vehicles as instructed by PTS office team
  • Pick up service users and transport them to their point of destination using the vehicle in a safe, secure and caring manner.
  • Take all reasonable steps to prevent service users from causing harm to themselves and/or others.
  • Complete all paperwork as requested.
  • Be punctual, adaptable and reliable.

  • Be flexible in working contracted hours over a standard working day and over a 5-day working week on a rota.
  • You need to be very patient, always calm, resilient and understanding of the needs of SEN children and vulnerable adults
  • Physically fit candidates
  • Resilient – understanding that passengers may spit, hit, punch
